AVENUE Couture of Hope :: Spring Time

Spring was a great source of inspiration for Couture of Hope designers. Celebrating the miracle of life strengthens our hope for a better future and unveils the power of nature, constantly renewing itself in spite of all struggles.

We seek your generous contribution to help us create a world where cancer can no longer claim another spring of anyone’s life.  In one week only, Couture of Hope raised 122,000 L$ to benefit the American Cancer Society, but we can do more!

Just a few more days left and we have 3 more fabulous designs for the McQueen Tribute. Each designer shares their inspiration for their creations and stuns me with their talent and spirit.

Orage Creations

“I adore Alexander McQueen’s design and have made several outfits in my fall collection inspired by his work. In this gown I wanted to celebrate the black color, a love of both designers, and the skull theme, proposed many times by McQueen in his fashion shows. Opulence, extravagance and luxury for a special dress as a little tribute to a great designer.” ~Elettra Gausman

“My inspiration for this style was with McQueen’s ability to take the simple and understated and give it, its own twist. He was an incredibly gifted and talented designer and he will be missed both for his outlandish designs and what he could have brought to the fashion world at large.” ~Autumn Hykova

Tres Beau

“My Inspiration for the McQueen outfit was from his 2009 fall collection. I love Black and white and his legging boots in the huge Hounds-tooth plaids were such fun! I wanted to capture his playfulness and his chic take on fun. I loved the way he could take something feminine and soft and give it an edgy look. He had an amazing sense for the female shape.” ~Kimmera Madison

The charity sale runs through the end of March and each design can be found at the respective designers mainstore with 100% of the funds going to Keep a Child Alive.

For The Love of McQueen – Charity Event

AVENUE Models proudly presents “For the Love of McQueen”, a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen, where 38 fashion designers have come together to lend their support in each creating a design that is inspired by McQueen’s work and spirit.

These original designs created within a week, will be showcased in a fashion show on 28th February 2010 at 12 pm SLT on GOLden shopping sim after which the designs will be available for sale at the designers’ stores for the month of March. 100% of the sales proceeds will be donated to the charity, Keep A Child Alive, since Alexander McQueen was a known supporter of similar AIDS / HIV charities.
