The much anticipated tribute to the late Alexander McQueen by AVENUE on Sunday at GOL was quickly filled up by a roomful of whose who in the fashion and media industry. It was no wonder why as 38 of some of Second Life’s top fashion designers were contributing their own unique design in tribute to McQueen and everyone was eager to see these designs for the first time. Spotted in the crowd were various participating designers that included the design teams of Lelutka, CHANTKARE and RFyre amongst others.
As guests arrived, AVENUE CEO & the Producer of this show and project, Rusch Raymaker played a selection of musical pieces from Alexander McQueen’s favourite musicians namely Michael Nyman and Phillip Glass. Then Angie Mornington of Fabulous Fashion TV took to the stage and took over the introductions of the show and the amazing designs unfolded to the delighted and enthralled audience.

AVENUE Models will be organising a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen showcasing a host of top Second Life® Fashion Designers, stylists, artists and members of the press, coming together to honor the provocative genius of this amazing designer.
The idea was initiated by AVENUE CEO Rusch Raymaker who shares “Alexander McQueen has been my greatest inspiration and I am sure for many of you too. It is my hope that we can come together to collaborate on something befitting for someone who made such a great contribution and impact in the fashion industry. This event is something greater than ourselves. It’s not about us really but about the man who gave us so much. Let’s give him a little something for everything he has given us.”
The organisation is underway and so far several of SL’s leading designers have signed up to collaborate in this homage to McQueen. The fashion show tribute on the 28th of February 12pm SLT held at GOL will culminate in a month-long sale of these dedicated creations at participating designers’ stores, of which 100% of sales proceeds will be given to a charity that Alexander McQueen was a patron of.

Sensual, sleek, creative, adventurous, glamorous, and sophisticated are just some of the words used to describe Djod Karu’s creations. The streets where full of curious onlookers this past Saturday, anxiously awaiting the new Scandalous Collection from DIRAM. Ever since Djod Karu started creating daring designs people have been drawn to them. Saturday was no exception to that.
Her collection unveiled in a New York City style urban street setting, with street lamps, apartment buildings, and even benches. The talented DJ Rusch Raymaker set the mood with upbeat tunes in the backdrop while the lovely Kryptonia Paperdoll hosted the show.
